Birmingham, MI – The Detroit Panthers signed athletic forward Stane’s Bufford out of Western Michigan University today. “Bufford, 6’4”; 200 lb from Detroit, MI will contribute to our explosive offense and provide a strong presence on the defensive end”, said Head Coach and Assistant GM Bill Jones. “We are looking for great things from Bufford on and off the court in his first year with the Panthers”, said President and GM Kevin A. Detroit Panthers Held Free Agent Camp for the Upcoming 2008-09 Basketball Season in the Premier Basketball League

Birmingham, Mich - The Detroit Panthers officially kicked off their 2008/2009 Basketball season by hosting a free agent camp this past weekend. This is the Panthers first year playing in the Premier Basketball League (PBL). The Panthers will play in the Central Division of the PBL.

“We had a great turn out for the camp and are looking at some great young talent with extensive basketball experience”, said Head Coach and Assistant GM Bill Jones. Also in attendance at the camp was President and GM, Kevin A. Carter who explained that “We have been eagerly waiting for this day to strap on our gear and hit the hardwood in preparations for a great season in Detroit and the PBL as a whole,” stated Carter.

Detroit Panthers Join Premier Basketball League

Chicago, IL - The Premier Basketball League officially announced today that the Detroit Panthers have been accepted and will begin play in the upcoming 2008/2009 season.

The Detroit ownership group is headed by Detroit native and successful businessman Kevin A. Carter, Chairman of the Carter Organization, Inc.

"We are excited about the opportunity to play in the PBL against a host of other well- funded and well-organized teams. We began discussions with the PBL early in the year and are pleased to now become a member.
