Detroit Panthers Join Premier Basketball League

Chicago, IL - The Premier Basketball League officially announced today that the Detroit Panthers have been accepted and will begin play in the upcoming 2008/2009 season.

The Detroit ownership group is headed by Detroit native and successful businessman Kevin A. Carter, Chairman of the Carter Organization, Inc.

"We are excited about the opportunity to play in the PBL against a host of other well- funded and well-organized teams. We began discussions with the PBL early in the year and are pleased to now become a member. The PBL provides a business model that matches our organization's goals and we are excited to bring professional basketball back to our fans in Detroit,” stated Carter.

“Detroit is a well run organization and we are pleased to welcome them to the Premier Basketball League.” said PBL President and Chief Executive Officer Tom Doyle. “The addition of the Detroit Panthers maintains our mission of a controlled expansion process that is synchronized with our travel cost objectives.”
